Project Overview
The project focused on the complete museological redesign and curation of the ‘Kostas Frontzos’ Folklore Museum in Ioannina. Housed in a landmark 19th-century Ottoman mansion, the museum holds one of the most significant collections of Epirotic folk art in Greece.
Under the supervision of Professor Georgios Papaioannou, the project aimed to modernize the exhibition’s narrative while respecting the building’s unique architectural character. The new design organized over 6,000 artifacts—including traditional costumes, silverware, and everyday tools—into thematic units that highlight the social and cultural history of the Epirus region. The exhibition serves as a vital cultural hub, bridging the gap between historical heritage and contemporary educational needs.
