Project Overview
This project involved a specialized feasibility and sustainability study commissioned by Olympiacos F.C. to modernize its museum operations. Led by Professor Georgios Papaioannou, the study provided a strategic roadmap for transforming the club’s existing museum into a self-sustaining, world-class cultural and athletic destination.
Key components of the 2016 study included:
Economic Sustainability: Analysis of revenue models, including ticketing, merchandise, and event hosting, to ensure the museum’s long-term financial independence.
Operational Strategy: Recommendations for restructuring the museum’s management and curatorial practices to meet international standards for sports heritage.
Digital Innovation: Exploration of cutting-edge technologies—such as interactive kiosks and digital archives—to engage younger fans and international tourists.
Future Growth: The findings of this study served as a critical foundation for the club’s long-term vision, culminating in the major 2025–2026 expansion of the museum to a new 1,200 sq.m. facility at the Karaiskaki Stadium, featuring high-tech interactive experiences like robotic goalkeepers and immersive digital history tunnels.
