Student Project: “In the Footsteps of the Poets” – A Digital Route in Lefkada

The Museology Research Laboratory of Ionian University is pleased to highlight the student project “In the Footsteps of the Poets”, developed by Ioanna Livitsanou as part of the course “Museums and Multimedia (and Mobile) Applications” at the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology. The project constitutes the first thematic section of the “Open Museum of Lefkada”, an initiative dedicated to highlighting the cultural, historical and literary heritage of the island through digital routes, historical documentation, oral testimonies and interactive content. The digital route focuses on six important writers and poets from Lefkada, connecting places associated with their lives and work with digital information and interpretive content. At selected points along the route, QR codes provide access to photographs, videos and audio recordings, allowing visitors to explore both well-known and lesser-known aspects of the literary heritage of Lefkada.Through the combination of physical places and digital content, the project creates an interactive way of exploring the cultural identity and literary heritage of the island. It also demonstrates how digital and multimedia applications can support new forms of cultural interpretation and engagement with local heritage. The Museology Research Laboratory congratulates Ioanna Livitsanou for the development of this project and highlights the value of student work that connects academic learning with the creation of digital cultural heritage experiences. The full digital route, including the video and the individual points of interest, is available here: “In the Footsteps of the Poets” – Open Museum of Lefkada
